In a future where humanity has exhausted all of Earth’s resources, there’s only one option left: explore the stars in search of a new habitable world. Thousands of androids are sent to the far reaches of space to carry out this crucial mission.
In Moonwakers, a roguelite exploration and survival game, you play as Moon, a lone android tasked with finding a viable planet. But beware: in space, every drop of energy matters. One of the game’s central challenges is to manage Moon’s energy consumption wisely to survive hostile environments and reach your goal. Moonwakers features a unique eco-mode built directly into its gameplay. When activated, it not only helps preserve your character’s energy but also reduces your real-life computer’s electricity usage by adjusting graphical settings. It’s a new way to connect in-game decisions with real-world environmental impact.
As part of the Green Game Jam, players will see their eco-points (a measure of the electricity saved during gameplay) displayed directly in the interface. These points offer a tangible reflection of your impact and choices. And what if you managed to complete Moonwakers without ever turning off ECO mode? A bold challenge, but one that carries meaning: play differently, and help imagine a more sustainable future.
